The magical Disney vacation can be overwhelming at times. With these tips you are sure to get the most out of your vacation with the least amount of meltdowns.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make and itinerary and plan your days ahead of time. If you are spending week or just a few days, this will be cruicial to success. If you are staying on Disney property, you should take advantage of all their extra magic hours in the mornings and evenings.

  2. Step 2

Reservations: Dinner reservations are very important. Be sure that they are late enough for after the afternoon nap and early enough to enjoy the evenings entertainment.

  3. Step 3

Naps: Even if your children do not take naps, it is a good idea if you try somewhere after lunch time. If your children do not take naps, be sure to have them lay in bed with the lights off and watch a little TV. Perhaps even take advantage of this time with your children to snugle up and get some much needed rest yourself.

  4. Step 4

Strollers: If your child is 4 or under I highly recommend you bring your own stroller and do not rent one from Disney. The strollers they have for rent are not designed for small children. In fact, I saw quite a few lazy mothers being pushed around in them.

  5. Step 5

Gizmos: To avoid buying all these light up gizmos they sell for the evening parades, bring some stuff from home if you already have otherwise you will be listening to screaming children asking for these things until you give in. Chances are, if you've been to Disney on Ice you've already purchased one of these $18 light-up things. They are no cheaper at Disney.

  6. Step 6

Parades: Give yourself plenty of time or you will not get a good spot. People actually start camping out about an hour before the parades along the routes. Same goes for firework shows.

  7. Step 7

Drinks and Snacks: Lines may be long and your child or children may be getting hungry or thirsty. The best thing to do is just keep a few things in your bags for just such an emergency. The wait at Ariel's Grotto and other meet the princess things can be an hour long with no fast pass. Disney does not discourage visitors from packing a few snacks. However, they do not allow large coolers so don't even try.
