Things You'll Need:
- small kitchen
-
Step 1
Counter space. Don't place anything on counter that you don't use daily. Extra clutter makes an already small space feel cramped and takes up precious counter space. The less often you use an item, the further away it can be stored. I keep my seldom used bread machine in my linen closet.
-
Step 2
Use wall space. If you have pretty serving or dessert plates, use plate hangers to hang them on your walls. You may also consider mounting a spice rack on a wall to keep cabinet space free and keep spices close.
-
Step 3
Use a pot rack. You can buy or make a small rack to hold 4-6 pots or pans. Hang it anywhere space allows. The good thing about a small kitchen is that no matter where you place something, it's close by. Your rack doesn't have to go above your range.
-
Step 4
Use the fridge. I use the exposed side of my refrigerator to store common items. Use a self-adhesive hook for pot holders and oven mitts. Also, to keep knives out of drawers and off counters, place heavy duty magnets on the fridge and use as a knife holder. They are convenient and out of the way.
