How to Make Sweet Tea

Here's how to make wonderful tasting sweet tea on the stove top.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 Family size tea bags brand of your choice
  • 1 medium pot
  • water
  • sugar (or sweetner of your choice)
  • pitcher
  • stove
  • measuring cup
  1. Step 1

    Boil 2 quarts of water on the stove top in medium sauce pan.

  2. Step 2

    Add 1 to 1 1/2 cups of sugar to the boiling water. Stir until it dissolves.

  3. Step 3

    Take off the stove top and add the 4 tea bags.

  4. Step 4

    Let steep for 15 minutes then pour into pitcher.

  5. Step 5

    Add the same amount of water that you started with to the pitcher and stir.

  6. Step 6

    Refrigerate for 2 hours or add ice for instant cold tea.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure the sugar completely dissolves before taking the pot off the burner and adding the tea.
  • If the tea is too strong, add more water.
  • You can use sugar substitute or no sugar at all.
  • If you don't have family size bags, substitute for 6 regular size bags.
  • Be careful when pouring into the pitcher to make sure you don't spill it or you can burn yourself.
  • Make sure you turn off the stove top.
