Remove Chewing Gum

Removing gum is easier than 1-2-3 but with so many methods of removing gum, how do you know which one to use?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Toothbrush
  • Vinegar
  • Peanut Butter
  1. Step 1

Peanut butter seems to work like a charm when tackling embedded gum. For this method you will rub peanut butter on the fabric and rub with a toothbrush. Wash and dry the fabric right away. Although this works very well, you may have the possibility of an oil stain on the material.

  2. Step 2

Vinegar is a big hit in my home. Simply heat up the vinegar and pour it on the gum. Wash and dry to remove the smell. This works very well, however, it may not get gum that is stuck deep in the fibers.

  3. Step 3

Freezing is another method many have heard of. This method requires you to rub ice on the gum until its cold enough to scrap off. The only problem with this method is that it takes a long time to do and it may rip the fibers apart when you scrap the gum off. If you choose this method, try freezing the entire item. However, it may not work as well if gum is embedded in the fibers.
