Things You'll Need:
- Kiln or other source of heat capable of reaching 1500 degrees (F).

Step 1
Find a source of heat capable of reaching temperatures of at least 1500 fahrenheit (such as a kiln).

Step 2
Place the diamond within the heat source.

Step 3
Once the temperature rises to nearly 1500 degrees, the diamond should vaporize, leaving nothing behind so long as oxygen is present.

on 4/28/2008 I mixed it up with the temperature needed within a vacuum (easier to attain this temperature). A temperature that high will melt it, rather than burn it. There are lots of methods to "destroy" a diamond I suppose.

on 4/26/2008 I think you'll find the boiling point for diamond is around 8700 degrees Fahrenheit.
