Things You'll Need:
- eBay or Craigslist account
- PayPal account
- Amazon.com account
-
Step 1
Gather up all your DVDs, CDs and books that you have used but haven't touched in a while. Sort them into appropriate piles. You'll be amazed to see how fast it'll accumlate.
-
Step 2
Decide whether or not you really want to part of each item. I suggest that if you did't down right love it, don't keep it. Not only is it consuming space in your home, but remember that it also has value.
-
Step 3
Decide whether or not you want to use eBay, Craigslist, or Amazon to sell your items. Remember that both eBay and Amazon charges fees. Craigslist on the other hand does not. Here are the pros and cons of each:
* eBay:
Pros: You'll reach a wider consumer base regardless if you sell
internationally or just within the United States.
Cons: There are fees for this service.
You may not get the what you were expecting, OR the final
bid may exceed your expectations.
* Craigslist:
Pros: This is a completely free service.
Cons: You are limited to your local market, unless someone
wanders over from another city or state.
* Amazon:
Pros: You reaching a wider consume base.
Cons: You have a set buying price. This can be a con because
as I've stated with eBay, your expectations can be exceed. -
Step 4
Examine with item. Clean the back of the DVDs and CDs. Scan through your books to check for stains, highlighting or corner pages.
-
Step 5
Write a description about your item.
-
Step 6
Post your item and wait. This is the hardest part. eBay auctions generally run for 7days. Craigslist and Amazon items can linger for a long time.
-

Communicate with you buyer from the beginning and ship the items out immediately.
-
Step 8
