Things You'll Need:
- Patience
- An open, understanding mind
- Love
-
Step 1
Ask your friend to tell you about the situation. Be gentle because she does love her husband, after all.
-
Step 2
Offer your opinion only if she asks you for it. If you give her an opinion that she doesn't want to hear, she may get defensive and start to take her frustration out on the friendship that you share.
-
Step 3
Be her support. When a relationship is ending, depression can occur and it feels like your whole world is changing. Be there if she wants to stay with her husband, and be there if she wants to leave him.
-
Step 4
Let her do the talking. Realize that the harder you try to convince your friend she should leave her husband, the more defensive she will become. If you push too hard, she might start avoiding you.
-
Step 5
If you must voice your opinion, just keep it positive and help build up her self-esteem. Tell her how beautiful, strong, and special she is and that she is strong enough to leave if she wants to.
-
Step 6
Consider saving their relationship. If your friend does not want to leave her cheating husband, focus on ways to help them heal. A marriage conference is a very effective option.
