Remember to Drink Eight Glasses of Water a Day
Remember to Drink Eight Glasses of Water a Day

Everyone knows that drinking enough water is good for health and weight loss. But it's so hard to remember to drink that much! I have a simple system that reminds you to drink your water, and keeps track of your progress.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 8 small figurines, rocks, dice, wine corks, or other small object.
  • 2 shelves or 2 small bowls.
  • Water to drink :)
  1. Step 1

Gather eight small objects. (I use plastic dogs, pretty rocks and other small knickknacks.) Each object represents a glass of water.

  2. Step 2

Set the objects in a place where you will notice them. I put them on the shelf over my sink. You can put them on your desk, on a table in the hallway, next to the computer - anywhere you will be sure to notice them throughout the day.

  3. Step 3

Each time you drink a glass of water, move one object to the next shelf.

  4. Step 4

When all the objects have been moved to another shelf - you know you have consumed enough water for the day.

  5. Step 5

Tomorrow - move them back one by one to the original shelf.

Tips & Warnings
  • Not home all day? Set up one set of objects at work, and one at home. Perhaps you want to drink 5 glasses of water at work and 3 at home. Place the appropriate number of objects in each location.
  • You can also collect your objects in bowls instead of on shelves. Glass rocks in wooden bowls would look very elegant.
