How to Properly Care For Your Swimsuit

When you take the time and money to invest in a good quality swimsuit, it only makes good sense to learn to care for it properly. By doing so you will preserve the shape and color and extend the life of your swimsuit even if you find yourself practically living in it all summer long.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Baby Shampoo

Step1
Rinse your swimsuit out after every use whether it be in chlorine or natural water. An easy way to do this is to hang it in the shower with you when you wash yourself off.
Step2
Wash in cold water and with gentle soap. Hot water can shrink your delicate fabrics.
Step3
Avoid getting oil or lotion on your swimsuit. If you do accidentally get any on your swimsuit, wash it with a gentle shampoo such as Johnson and Johnson's tearless baby shampoo and sponge it off.
Step4
Never put your swimsuit in the dryer machine. Always air dry.
Step5
Never put your swimsuit away with even the slightest dampness to it.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have a colorful suit, rinse it well in a sink full of ice water to help set the color.
