Many people avoid strenuous exercise because of the soreness they know they will experience afterwards. Anyone can be susceptible to that muscle soreness, but here are a few ways to help avoid the ache.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • time

Step1
Warm up by doing the sport you are about to participate in at a lower intensity. For example, if you are a runner, walk briskly for a few minutes before starting your routine.
Step2
Cool down after your routine by stretching. This helps alleviate the aches before they happen.
Step3
Try a self massage device. There are many new ones available. Just shop around to find one that fits your needs and budget.
Step4
Exercise. Doing the same exercise that made you sore at a lesser intensity will often alleviate the soreness.
Step5
Take an anti-inflammatory. Follow package directions for the recommended dosage.
