Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Children of the Chiang Rai Orphanage
Reverend Siriat Pusurinkham rose to the pulpit of our church and shared with us the story of AIDS orphans in Thailand. As a child, she watched poor families sell their children to the sex trade in Thailand. After growing up and becoming a minister, she worked at the church her father founded. It is located near Laos and Burma, in the Golden Triangle.
Step2
Cross Stitched Purse for Sale at www.mythaikids website
Living in a northern rural Thai village with over 100 AIDS orphans, she began taking in the children. Children without documentation of their birth have little chance of any life in Thailand. They are outcasts in their own villages. Reverend Pusurinkham told the story of trying to sell crafts made by the AIDS orphans. When people asked who made the items, they dropped them from their hands.
Step3
Children at School
Now, with over 23 children, the orphanage has received enough donations to add a second building for the boys. Primarily, it is the help of individuals as well as organizations choosing to set aside funds to assist the orphanage. All donations are tax deductible with volunteers working and no administration fees or paid staff.
Step4
We Have A Dream, Help Us Make It A Reality!
Many people contributing small amounts can make a difference. At their website, www.mythaikids.com, you can read more. Several businesses, including mine, give a percentage of our sales to the orphanage. Consider adding the link to your website, or donating the sales of a particular item to the orphanage. There are many ways to contribute & all are greatly appreciated!
Step5
A Picture from the Chidren at the Prattachisuk Orphanage
Update:
This October a group is traveling to Thailand with a goal of raising $25,000 to purchase two water filtration systems, two refrigerators and furniture for the children.Every dollar donated is used for the children. There are no administrative costs. We are all volunteers.
Step6
Change a Child's Life and Give
The next step is up to you. One person does make a difference.
Thank you!

on 5/3/2008 What a wonderful idea. I wrote an article that may be helpful called, "Giving Generously Without Breaking the Bank" maybe I can apply that to this organization?
