Things You'll Need:
- Ten Dollars
- Garden Space
-
Step 1
Purchase some *easy* to grow annual flowers such as Zinnias and Poppies. Main Street Seed and Supply Company sells 600 California Giant Zinnia seeds for $1.95, 1000 Tumbelina Zinnia seeds for $1.95, and 34,500 Double Shirley or Corn-Red Poppy seeds for $1.95. With shipping those three packages of seeds will cost $8.85.
-
Step 2
When danger of frost is gone, direct sow your seeds into your garden bed.
-
Step 3
Water frequently and watch for sprouts. When sprouts appear, water less often and fertilize as needed.
-
Step 4
Enjoy your inexpensive blooming flower garden. You can continue to get your zinnias to bloom throughout the summer by dead heading (cutting off old flowers).
