When you open a new blank document in Word 2003, Times New Roman is the font setting that displays as you start to type. You can easily change that setting for all future new documents to a font setting of your choice.

      Open Microsoft Word.

      Right-click your mouse in the blank document. The Font dialog box will display.

      Make any changes you want in this box. You can change the font, its style and size, as well as color and effects.

      Click the "Default" button in the lower left corner of the Font dialog box when you are done.

      Click "Yes" on the pop-up that appears. This will make your newly chosen settings the default for each future blank document.
