Things You'll Need:
- Colored powder
- Makeup brush
- Makeup sponge
-
Step 1
Use a brush to apply the powder. While a puff also works well, the brush creates the best application because it doesn't disturb the other make up as you cover it. Occasionally, a too heavy hand with the puff can do just that.
-
Step 2
Blend the color with the makeup. When you powder over the special effects makeup, you need a color that blends with the foundation underneath. You wouldn't use a healthy pink on the cheeks of a zombie anymore than you would put purple on a pale white starlet.
-
Step 3
Reduce the shine when you use makeup over stitches and glued-on special effects. The powder not only reduces the shine, but gives all the make up a matte finish. This helps conceal the glue and special effect makeup that you've added.
-
Step 4
Brush lightly, making sure that the underlying makeup doesn't stick to the bristles of the brush. If you move swiftly and lightly as you brush on the powder, the sticky makeup underneath remains untouched by the brush and receives only the powder.
-
Step 5
Remove excess powder with a makeup sponge. You should be able to see spots that got a little more color than you wanted. Simply carefully brush the excess away but make sure you don't loosen any of the attached special effects makeup underneath.
