Studio microphones are specially designed for optimal audio pick-up. Studio quality microphones are a big investment and need to be fully integrated into the recording studio system. In addition, the microphone is the most important part of a recording studio, so select the best you can afford.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Select a special studio microphone. The microphone has to be able to capture the full dynamic range of the performer's voice.

  2. Step 2

Get several types of microphones for use in different situations. Condenser microphones and dynamic microphones have different capacities in a studio and during live performances.

  3. Step 3

Buy good headphones for recording. The headphones deliver the music directly to the performers without being picked up by the microphones. Using high quality headphones during recording prevents a bleed through of the music where it is picked up by the microphone. Bleed through creates problems later during the mixing.

  4. Step 4

Install "popper stoppers" on the microphone to prevent the popping of the words that start with P and the hissing of words that start with S. This is very useful for recording, especially for rappers, as the microphone magnify every sound.
