Pets are like members of our family. The health and happiness of our pets are very important. Therefore, it is important to choose a good pet store. A pet store should be a place that you trust and rely on for all of your pet needs. Here are a few steps on how to pick the right pet store.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a pet store where the staff is knowledgeable and educated about the animals. A good pet store will have a staff that can answer questions about general health care, food, mating and other things pertaining to your particular pet.

  2. Step 2

Look at the cleanliness of the pet store. You should only choose a pet store that practices very good cleanliness. Look at all of the animal cages and see if they are well maintained and clean. Also, check the floor, the walls, the shelves and the overall smell of the pet store.

  3. Step 3

Check the animals in the pet store. Make sure they look clean, alert and comfortable. Assure that each animal has sufficient living space and the needed items they require such as food, water, toys, chewy items, snacks and bedding.

  4. Step 4

Pick a pet store that is close to your home. Keep their phone number on hand and know their hours of operation. You never know when you might need to run to the pet store or call them for some advice on your beloved pet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have a back up pet store. It is smart to pick two really good pet stores. Therefore, if one is out of a particular thing that you need, you can quickly run to the back up store.
