Dressing up as a cat is a favorite for both young kids and adults when it comes to Halloween costumes. No cat costume is complete without the proper painting of your face. The finishing touch on every cat face is the whiskers. Follow these steps to add whiskers to your Halloween cat makeup.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Eyeliner, eyebrow pencil or grease paint
  • Cotton swab
  • Powder
  1. Step 1

Wash and dry your face thoroughly before applying makeup.

  2. Step 2

Apply face paint in the cat design you like.

  3. Step 3

Use an eyebrow pencil, eyeliner or grease paint to make the pads for the whiskers. Make small round dots on your upper lip below your nose. You only need 3 to 5 dots on each side. Press the end of your eyeliner or eyebrow pencil on to your skin and then rotate in a circle to make a perfectly round dot. If you are using grease paint, use a cotton swab, dip it in to the grease paint and then use the same process as above to make the pads.

  4. Step 4

Draw on the whiskers by taking your eyebrow pencil or liner and starting near the dots you just made, make quick even strokes across the face out towards your ears. You can use a business card or edge of a piece of paper as a guide to help you keep the lines straight or just draw them free hand.

  5. Step 5

Use black or brown colored makeup to draw whiskers if you have light skin. For darker colored skin, use a yellow or silver color to make your whiskers.

  6. Step 6

Set your makeup by dusting your face with a coat of powder.

Tips & Warnings
  • Liquid eyeliner works well for drawing cat whiskers.
  • Remember not to rub or scratch your face once your makeup is on to avoid smudging it.
  • Avoid getting makeup in your eyes.
