1
Sketch the decorations on the gingerbread man with a pencil. Sketch an icing border around the entire gingerbread man, buttons, eyes, mouth and mitten and boot borders. Sketch lightly so that any visible pencil marks can easily erase.
-
2
Use black or dark brown puffy paint to make "icing" eyes and buttons. Squeeze a raisin sized drop of paint on the pencil sketches you have made for these parts. Do not touch puffy paint until it is completely dry or it can smear.

3
Outline the mouth with bright red puffy paint. Put two small dots on each side of the gingerbread man's smile. Make the two dots the size of an eraser on the end of a pencil.
-
4
Make the "icing" border around the entire gingerbread man with white puffy paint. Make the outline squiggly so that it looks like rick rack. Outline the two small lines at each wrist and ankle of the gingerbread man to mark off his mitten and boot lines.
-
5
Decorate the gingerbread man with white glue, buttons, yarn and rick rack in place of the puffy paint for a more textured look.
