A clothespin reindeer is an enjoyable holiday craft for children and people of all ages. They make creative Christmas decorations and gifts. To craft a clothespin reindeer, all one needs are a few household craft items.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Glue
  • Slotted clothespins
  • Pom-poms
  • Googly eyes
  1. Step 1

Turn the slotted clothespin upside down. If desired, paint it brown.

  2. Step 2

Give the clothespin reindeer some eyes. Googly eyes work best for this, as they give the clothespin reindeer a little bit of character. Just put 2 small dabs of glue on the clothespin and gently place the googly eyes on the drops of glue.

  3. Step 3

Glue a nose on the clothespin reindeer. Take a small pom-pom and glue it on the clothespin. To make sure the pom-pom nose will say in place, hold it for a few seconds.

  4. Step 4

Decorate the clothespin reindeer’s antlers with a bit of gold cord. Just tie it around the antlers and make a bow.

  5. Step 5

Make this reindeer into any type of functional or decorative item. One could make it a pin by gluing a safety pin to the back of it. One could also make it into a tree decoration by attaching a ribbon to the back. Finally, one could make the clothespin reindeer have legs by gluing another slotted clothespin to the back of the nose.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a red pom-pom if making a Rudolph the red-nose reindeer clothespin.
  • A tacky type of glue will work best for this project.
