Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large coin
  1. Step 1

Rest a large coin, such as a half dollar, on the tips of your ring finger and your middle finger.

  2. Step 2

Close your hand and push the coin into the palm of your hand with the tip of your middle finger

  3. Step 3

Loosen your grip while grabbing onto the coin between the muscles in your palm. You want to pinch the coin between the pad of your thumb and the muscle on the side of your palm.

  4. Step 4

Turn your hand over so the back of your hand is visible to your audience and the palm is hidden. Practice this until you can get your hand to look like you are not holding anything in it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Redirect your audience's attention to your other hand while you are positioning the classic palm trick.
  • Practice maneuvering the coin from the finger position to the Classic Palm position until you can get it without dropping the coin. Then move on to practicing holding the coin in the palm while moving your hand so that it looks like you have nothing in your hand and the move is effortless.
  • Don't get frustrated if you can't master the Classic Palm trick after the first few tries. Some people take weeks or months to get this maneuver right so it looks natural.
