Bossa nova evolved from the samba, and is most often played on the acoustic guitar accompanied by a vocalist. The bossa nova guitar style is influenced by jazz. The laid back sound and mellow vocals make bossa nova a popular genre for relaxation. You can play an entire song on bossa nova guitar with practice.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Start to play the bossa nova by placing the index finger on the third fret of the G string, the ring finger on the fifth fret of the A sting, and the small finger on the fifth fret of the D string.
Step2
Place the fingers carefully to move comfortably and play the G7 twice. Be sure to hold the hand perpendicular to the guitar face.
Step3
Play the next chord by moving the fingers to a flat two position. Slide the index and middle fingers down two frets to the fifth fret. Place the ring finger and small finger down to the seventh fret and hold them firmly.
Step4
Move the fingers back to the original start position and quickly slide back to the previous flat position.
Step5
Continue through the bossa nova chord tablature. Keep the rhythm relaxed and easy to bring out the atmosphere of the bossa nova.
