Romance, comfort and luxury are all words that might described a bohemian decor, making it the perfect style choice when setting an atmosphere for your bedroom. If you would like to make over your bedroom with a new fresh style, a few tips can help you decorate with a bohemian look.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose gloss or semi-gloss paints to decorate your walls, selecting bohemian colors such as purples, dark reds, browns and golds. Remember that the bohemian style is characterized by rich colors, so avoid pastels or bright, vibrant colors.

  2. Step 2

Decorate your bedroom with large, ornate wood furniture for that bohemian look. Four-poster beds, large armoires and linen chests are all great options. Stain any wood furniture with dark, mahogany stains. You might also consider bringing in a large hope chest for storage as well as decoration for your new room.

  3. Step 3

Contrast your dark walls and furniture with light, breezy linens such as satin and lace. Choose curtains, bedspreads and pillows which are simple, yet elegant and feminine. Shear fabrics which drape beautify can be used to decorate your windows, tables, armoires, and can even be draped from your four-poster bed. Choose light colors such as creams, pinks and whites with subtle accents in gold or silver for a romantic touch.

  4. Step 4

Set off the romantic atmosphere of your bohemian bedroom with cool lighting. Choose low wattage bulbs and place a number of candles around the room. You can also drape existing lamps with colored fabrics or even purchase new lampshades to match your new decor.

  5. Step 5

Finish your bohemian look with the right accents. Gold or silver framed mirrors are especially bohemian, as are silver candlesticks, small wood trinket boxes and even antique books. Don't forget to add a touch of life to your bedroom by bringing in as many houseplants as you like.
