A good DJ mixes the verses of vocals and choruses seamlessly. DJs have to familiarize themselves with each tune they're going to spin before it comes up in their playlist. Each song has different introductions and exits. By using the rhythm and chorus, DJs can blend the two and create an entirely new tune.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two turntables
  1. Step 1

Count the bars in the chorus. The chorus is typically a set of four bars each with eight beats. Matching the number of beats for the two songs being mixed depends on beat count.

  2. Step 2

Mix out of the longer of the two choruses . This gives the DJ the most audio room to work with.

  3. Step 3

Start the mix in the middle of the longer chorus. The two introductions should match up in beat count, and the additional bars have to be eliminated.

  4. Step 4

End the first song’s chorus as the reverse of the second song’s chorus begins. In this way the two songs blend together.
