Things You'll Need:
- Banana- not too ripe
-
Step 1
Take a yellow banana and note that the banana has a stem [towards the right in picture] and an end piece [towards the left in picture].
-
Step 2
While holding the stem away from you either make a cut in the end of the banana with a knife [or use your fingernail] to start the peeling process. Peel each section down towards the stem.
For some reason this method increases the chances of the skin adhering to the strings... hmmm -
Step 3
When finished you should have a perfectly peeled banana without the strings. Note: If a banana is over ripe it may not work as well.

on 7/26/2009 Nice article! I never thought of using a knife when peeling a banana. Pinching the opposite side of the stem helps as well.
Overall, good work!

on 3/20/2009 I've actualy had a pet spider monkey that showed me that trick he would pinch the banana and it would split apart on the ridge. been peeling that way for years.
