How to Date an Older Guy Behind Parents Back

There are many people who date someone that is older than them. Often it is the guy that is older than the girl, but sometimes it is also the other way around. Age does not necessarily have to be an issue in a relationship. But if your parents are objecting to it, there might be a legitimate reason why.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Consider both of your ages. An age difference is not as big of a deal once you are older, but when you are young, it can be a really big deal. For example, there is a huge difference in maturity level between a 14 year old and a 21 year old. Although there might not be as much difference when you are 21 and he is 28.
Step2
Talk to your parents again, if you are both under 18 years old, or both over 18 years old. Find out why they have a problem with you dating an older guy. If they have legitimate issues or concerns, consider them when deciding if you should be dating him. If their reasons do not seem legitimate to you, ask them to agree to meet him and give him a fair chance before deciding you can not date him.
Step3
Decide to date him behind your parents back, only if you are truthfully convinced there is no danger in the activity. Dating him behind their back, without getting caught, takes a lot of effort on both yours and the guy's part. You both need to decide if the relationship is worth all of the secrecy. If your parents find out, they are going to be very angry, and give you consequences for the behavior. Be prepared to pay the consequences.
Step4
Tell your parents you are going out with a girlfriend when you want to go out on a date with this guy. Be sure to also tell your girlfriend that you are using her as your alibi, and make sure she agrees to cover for you, if your parents should ask her.
Step5
Make arrangements to meet him away from your home. If possible, go to your girlfriend's house like you told your parents you were, and then have him pick you up there.
Step6
Call your parents while you are out with him, to check in with them, if that is something you would normally do. If you do not call them, they might call your friend's house looking for you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be careful about leaving evidence of your contact with him. Your parents might find it and know about the relationship. If your cell phone or home phone has itemized bills that show the phone numbers called, it isn't a good idea to make calls to him. Use a pay phone instead or call him from a friend's house.
  • If you have email contact with him, be sure to erase all evidence there also. Delete his emails after you read them and delete all copies of emails you send to him. Make sure you delete them not only from the In box in your email program, but also from the Sent file. After you are all done deleting them all, go into the Trash file and delete them again from there.
  • If you are not 18 years old yet, and he is over 18, you should not even be considering dating each other. If your relationship gets intimate, which it may if he is over 18, then it is illegal. He could go to jail if he has sex with you.
