The average rate of hair growth is 1/2 inch a month; however, without the proper care, hair can become brittle and break and dander and soap build-up can impede growth. If you want to know how to care for your hair for maximum growth, a few simple tips can help that hair to grow fast.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • B vitamins, magnesium and zinc
  • Mild soap and conditioner
  • Wide-toothed comb
  • Brush with natural bristles
  1. Step 1

Sleep well, eat well and exercise daily, because a healthy body means healthy hair. Diet and exercise is particularly important for fast hair growth, as poor quality food lacking in vitamins and minerals will take it's toll on your hair. Additionally, exercise helps to open and clear the pores of the scalp, helping to free the follicles and promote growth.

  2. Step 2

Get plenty of vitamins, minerals and protein to help your hair grow fast. Protein is a key part of hair growth, so make sure that you get about 30 grams a day from sources such as eggs, white meat, fish, nuts and green leafy vegetables. While a healthy diet should supply you with all of the vitamins and minerals your body needs, you can boost hair growth by including supplements of B vitamins as well as magnesium and zinc. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for dosage information.

  3. Step 3

Wash your hair with a mild, perfume free shampoo and a light conditioner. Stimulate your scalp while shampooing, spending a few extra minutes in the shower to massage your scalp and promote hair growth. Additionally, never wash your hair in hot water or use a blow dryer as these factors can strip your locks of their natural oils, causing excessive split ends and breakage. For fast hair growth, use cold or lukewarm water and towel dry your hair.

  4. Step 4

Be nice to your hair to promote growth and prevent breakage. Never brush your hair when it is wet, as it is more elastic and prone to breakage. Instead, pick through your hair gently with a wide-toothed comb and allow to dry throughout. Once dry, use a natural hairbrush, such as a boar's hair brush, brushing your hair from tip to root.
