Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- 5 guitar picks
- Satin ribbon
- Drill and drill bit
Step1
Go to your local music supply store and select 5 guitar picks to make your necklace. The picks will be aligned in a row centered at your neck, so you can decide whether you want the picks all the same size and color, or varied for a unique look.
Step2
Visit your local craft supply store and purchase a length of satin ribbon which matches your chosen guitar picks. Make sure that the ribbon is long enough for your desired necklace. This style of necklace will work as a choker or standard necklace, so you decide.
Step3
Use a drill and small drill bit to make two hole along the wide edge of each pick so that the pointed end faces down. The size or your bit will depend on the width of ribbon you have chosen. Once you have made the first two hole in one pick, you can use it to create a template for the others.
Step4
Thread the ribbon through the two holes of your center pick so that the ribbon crosses over the front side. Center the pick on the ribbon.
Step5
Work from center to the right, adding to more picks in the same fashion. Thread the ribbon up through the first hole, down through the second and then slide the guitar pick in tight to the last so that the corner slides underneath. Repeat with the last two picks, moving center to left.
Step6
Place your new guitar pick necklace around your neck, make a bow and your are finished.
