How to Get Longer Lashes

Longer looking lashes are one of the greatest beauty quests. Unless you were born with long dark curly eyelashes or are a makeup professional, they're difficult to achieve. But if you practice the following simple steps, you'll be able to obtain long curly eyelashes that flatter and enhance your natural beauty.

Things You'll Need:

• Eyelash curler
• Mascara
• Cloth

1. Curl your eyelashes firmly with an eyelash curler, holding the curler to the base of your upper lashes and squeezing for a few seconds. Be careful not to squeeze too tight as this may pull out one or more lashes.

2. Remove the wand from your mascara tube, and gently wipe off any clumps of mascara from the brush onto a tissue or cloth.

3. Apply the mascara from the base out, using a slow stroke, gently wiggling the wand from side to side. Work from the outside of your eyelash to the inside edge. This gives you a more even coat of mascara and makes it thicker at the base of your eyelash.

4. Stroke a second coat over the tips of your eyelashes only, holding the brush vertically to coat each lash individually.

• If you smudge mascara under your eye, daub a bit of concealer on the spot instead of trying to wipe it off.
• Choose the mascara that's right for you. If your lashes are thin, purchase a thickening mascara. If your lashes are short, look for a lengthening product.
• Remember that your eyelashes are hair. Use a conditioning product to keep them healthy.
• Treat your eyelashes gently because each one takes one to two months to regrow.
