Step 1
Choose to make all right or all left turns. Whichever you choose, stay consistent and it will take you through the maze.
-
Step 2
Follow a wall through the maze. If you're in an actual maze, some people recommend putting your left hand on the left wall and making turns that keep your hand on the wall. You can also do your right hand on the right wall, but keep in mind that this method won't work in all mazes.
-
Step 3
Use a map. If you're trying to find your way through an elaborate corn maze, a map can be indispensable. Many mazes like this have particular points for you to find as well, which can increase the challenge of the maze.
-
Step 4
Try working a paper maze backwards. In other words, start at the point where you are supposed to end and try working your way back to the start. You may want to use this method after you've tried other ones as some people find it more satisfying to master the maze from the beginning.
-
Step 5
Keep track of where you've been and go down the same path no more than twice. If you're in a physical maze, you can leave a marker like a peanut or chip at each decision point. If you come to the spot again, you'll know and you then place the other marker. This helps you eliminate the unfruitful routes.
-
Step 6
Randomly wander through the maze with your feet or your pencil. It may not be the most strategic method for getting through a maze, but sometimes it can be the most enjoyable. Explore, get lost, discover you're in the same spot for the fourth time and explore some more.
