Things You'll Need:

  • Black clothing in good repair
  • Red, hot pink or dark blue accessories
  • Classic renaissance style jewelry
  • Black eyeliner
  • Light foundation
  1. Step 1

Add color to your wardrobe. Don't just wear black. Accessorize with hot pink, red and dark blue.

  2. Step 2

Wear a large silver cross on a chain around your neck. Wear chunky silver jewelry that is plain. Don't wear rings with skulls or spiked metal bracelets and necklaces.

  3. Step 3

Wear clothing that is neat and in good repair. Avoid wearing grungy clothes that are frayed and full of holes.

  4. Step 4

Go easy on the makeup. Wear light colored foundation instead of face paint. Apply eyeliner in thin lines so that your eyes look more natural.

  5. Step 5

Add some glitter to show a touch of femininity. Wear sparkles on your eyes. Brush a sparkly powder over your face, neck and any other exposed skin.

  6. Step 6

Keep your hair its natural shade. Style your hair simply, in a way that makes you feel comfortable.

  7. Step 7

Act pleasantly, and keep a smile on your face. Keep your mood light so that you are fun and easy to be around.

I'd like to point out though, that the goth subculture actually revolves around a particular musical genre. It's not really a mindset or a way of life.
