How to Look Hot in the Yearbook

From high school until the end of time, someone will drag a yearbook off the shelf at least once a year and open it to show your picture to someone you don't want to see it. Yearbooks are forever, so it matters that you look good for your picture. The following steps can help you look hot in the yearbook.

Instructions

    • 1

Practice smiling in the mirror. Learn to perfect your smile. Have a friend take pictures with a phone or digital camera and check the smile. Practice a variety of looks and choose the one that works best overall.

    • 2

Relax the face to avoid squinty or bugged out eyes or a smile that's too toothy. Be prepared and feel confident so that it shows in your photo. Make a practice run. Do hair, makeup and dress for the photo a day or two before Picture Day.

    • 3

Go easy on the makeup. Choose neutral eye shadow and go light on the eyeliner. Brush on an extra coat of mascara. Wear a powder-based foundation in a sheer, neutral tone.

Wear a simple hairstyle. Get a haircut the week before. Wash and dry hair the night before, or morning of the yearbook pictures, whichever works best in the normal routine. Allow plenty of time to style hair in the morning. Use a light hairspray.

Choose an outfit that feels good. Wear a color that complements skin tone and hair color. Choose a top in a solid color or a small print. For photos in black and white, wear a top in a darker color.

    • 6

Zap zits the day before with an overnight acne preparation that takes the red out and reduces swelling. Use a cover cream and then blend foundation over it.
