Instructions

    • 1

Make a list. Have each person planning to travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina write down what they use on a daily basis. Help young children make their lists or make it for them. Your list should include items such as medications, toiletries, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, clothing, shoes, camera, film and other things you're going to use.

    • 2

Combine each list into categories based on areas of your home--hygienic items from the bathroom, clothing from the bedrooms, electronics and other items throughout the home.

    • 3

Begin packing items from your list. You can pack things early if you're not going to use them before leaving for your trip. Check or cross off the items as you pack them into the suitcase. This also allows you to know if you need to buy anything, making a separate shopping list for those items.

    • 4

Lay out regularly used items the night before your trip. For toiletries and items you use on a daily basis--medications, toothbrushes and hairbrushes, for instance--place them in an accessible area for you to use, but not in their normal storage space. This brings them to your attention so as not to forget to pack them.

    • 5

Finish packing. Right before you leave on your trip to Myrtle Beach, pack the remaining items from your list. Make sure to include items that didn't make it onto your list. Go over your checklist and cross each item off to complete your packing.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you forget a toiletry item or a piece of clothing, you can always buy it from a store in Myrtle Beach.

  • If you plan on swimming, pack at least two swimsuits to switch between. This way one can be drying while you're wearing the other one.

  • Don't forget any medications you or your family members take.

I've been to Myrtle Beach twice in April and it is beutiful! I suggest going in April because the temps will be 70-80 and its off season so you end up paying less. If you go to Myrtle Beach be sure to go to Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach!
