Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose the violets you want for your tea. If you are growing your own, make sure you pick them after the morning dew dries but before the midday sun settles in. The sun can destroy some of the flavors that you only find in the morning time with violets.

  2. Step 2

Clean the violets you have chosen. Wash under a very light stream of water from a sink and dry them by touching an absorbing napkin to them. Make sure your have washed away all dirt and insects from the plants.

  3. Step 3

Add 2-3 fresh violet flowers per every cup of hot water. Use this formula until you have the amount of tea you want. For stronger tea, add an additional flower, and take one away for weaker tea.

  4. Step 4

Place a violet flower in each tea cup once the tea is poured. This is to garnish the delicious tea and add one last shot of flavor.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use this recipe to help soothe congestion, sore throats and respiratory infections.
  • Do not use flowers that may have been sprayed with pesticides or other poisons. Violent illness and death can follow drinking tea with any poison in it.
