Become a morning person and take advantage of all the morning has to offer you. Take control of the day by getting up early, performing a morning ritual that includes exercise and breakfast, and then reflecting on the day ahead and how you will carry out your plans. Do this every day so you feel great in the morning and can not wait to wake up each day.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wake up feeling refreshed every morning. Go to bed when you get sleepy and sleep six to eight hours every night.

  2. Step 2

Open your eyes. Check your clock. If it is time to get up do so right away. Resist any temptation to go back to sleep. Tell yourself how you feel great when you get up right away in the morning.

  3. Step 3

Sit up in bed and stretch your arms. Now throw your legs over the side of the bed and sit there for a minute. Stretch again and get up.

  4. Step 4

Go into the bathroom and splash water on your face. Brush your teeth right away.

  5. Step 5

Perform a morning exercise routine. It does not have to be fancy or elaborate. It can consist of playing your favorite songs while doing some light calisthenics to them. Take a ten-minute walk or run.

  6. Step 6

Sit down to breakfast. Make sure you eat something at this point. Toast and jam, or eggs and bacon are fine choices but do make sure you eat something for breakfast.

  7. Step 7

Reflect on the day. Just take a few minutes and think about what your plans are and how you will execute them. Taking control of your day like this makes you feel great in the morning and the rest of the day.

on 4/8/2009 These are great tips which I really need to use. I have never been a morning person and feel half alive even when I get plenty of sleep. It will be so nice to have some level of alertness and energy in the a.m.! Thanks!

on 7/1/2008 Good tips. Wholesome and reflected. Especially reflecting on the day ahead and really make you 'hungry' for the day, I think - will change not only your energy, but implement greater meaning and happiness in your day. Thumbs up! :-)
