Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Spray bottle
  • Cloths
  • Water
  • Paper towels
  • Spoon
  • Sponge
  • Rubber gloves
  • Non-bleaching detergent or mild carpet shampoo
  • Plastic bag
  • Bowl
  • Heavy book
  1. Step 1

Act quickly. Clean up as much of the juice as possible using a blotting motion. Scrubbing will only make the stain worse.

  2. Step 2

Squirt a little bit of lukewarm water on the stain using a spray bottle. One could also dab the stain with a wet sponge. Be sure not to soak the carpet when spraying the stain, as the stain can spread.

  3. Step 3

Blot the sprayed stain again using paper towels. If the stain is still bad, try rewetting the stain and blotting it again until it is less severe.

  4. Step 4

Make a cleaning solution out of ¼ tsp. of a non-bleaching detergent and approximately 32 oz. of warm water if the stain is very tough. One could also substitute a gentle carpet shampoo for the non-bleaching detergent. Blend this mixture thoroughly. Put the detergent and water mixture on a dampened clean cloth and apply the cloth to the stain.

  5. Step 5

Use a spoon to gently massage the cloth over the stain, starting from the outside to the middle. Use a whirling motion, as this will keep the stain from spreading and will deliver the solution to the stain.

  6. Step 6

Dab the stain and apply a little more of the detergent and water mixture to the stain until there is no color of the stain on the paper towel that one uses to blot.

  7. Step 7

Rinse and dry the carpet. Blot the carpet to remove extra water and then put a clean dry cloth over the moist spot. Put a plastic bag over the cloth and place a large, heavy book over the bag. Leave the book, bag and cloth in place for several hours.
