Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Gather the ingredients for your vodka gimlet. Now take your shaker and fill it one-half to two-thirds full of ice cubes.

  2. Step 2

Add the vodka. For the perfect drink, you can actually measure 1.5 ounces of vodka to every one ounce of lime juice in a measuring cup, but this is more or less to taste. Alternatively, use the shot glass method of measuring.

  3. Step 3

Take a shot glass (if you prefer this method) and fill it with vodka. Empty it into the shaker. Now fill it half full of lime juice. Pour into shaker. Repeat this process for every vodka gimlet you want to produce.

  4. Step 4

Shake the ingredients in the shaker for thirty seconds. Let sit for a minute.

  5. Step 5

Quarter your lime while your mixture is sitting. Take a sharp knife and place your lime on a cutting board. Now cut the lime in half from top to bottom. Now cut each half in half from top to bottom.

  6. Step 6

Select one of the lime wedges and place it on the rim of the glass. Press it down onto the glass. Now run the wedge all the way around the glass squeezing as you go to distribute lime juice around the rim.

  7. Step 7

Pour the vodka and lime juice mixture into the glass. Remove the lime from the rim of the glass and squeeze the rest of the juice into the drink. Drop the lime into the glass and serve.
