How to Get a Guy to Call

You've finally met a guy you really like and he seems interested. However, you've given your number to guys in the past who never called, and you're not certain if he'll be any different. Use these tips to increase the likelihood that the guy will call you.

1. Play it cool. If you want a guy to call, try not to seem desperate. Give him your phone number, but try not to seem too eager for him to call.
2. Tell him you want to hang out. While giving your phone number, say something like, “Give me a ring if you ever want to get together and hang out.” You’re keeping it casual, but still being forward enough to make him want to call.
3. Ask him to call you about something the two of you have in common. For example, if you have a class together, tell him to call you about your upcoming term paper. Once he calls, you can start flirting with him instead of talking about school.
4. Send a message through a friend. If the guy seems clueless about you liking him, ask a mutual friend to drop the hint. Let the friend know you want the guy to call you and have her put the ball in his court.

Tips & Warnings

• When you drop enough hints for a guy and he still doesn’t call, you should let it go. He may not be interested in you.
• If you have a guy’s number, give him a call first. The guy doesn't always have to initiate things.
