Instructions

    • 1

Gather an assortment of traditional silver or colorful plastic-coated paper clips. You can also brush clips with acrylic paint for a matte finish in the color of your choice. (See Resources)

    • 2

Hook several clips to one another. If you'd rather keep the bracelet completely flat, attach the clips with pretty ribbon ties or short lengths of elastic string. Measure the length on your wrist. Once it's long enough, tie a long piece of coordinating ribbon to the clips at each end. You'll be tying these into a bow to hold the jewelry on your wrist. Trim strips of patterned paper or colorful magazine clippings a little shorter than the length of the clips. Cut the strips into pieces about 2-inches long. Wrap them around the clips and secure with double-stick tape. If desired, seal and add shine with a coat of clear glaze. (See Resources)

    • 4

Increase width by hooking several bracelets together. Simply make 3 chains of the same length and then tie the ribbon closures at each end through all 3 clips. They'll fan out on your wrist for a burst of color.

    • 5

Add more embellishments by stringing beads or dangling charms from the ribbon ties.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a different effect, use clips in different shapes like squares, circles and swirls. (See Resources)
