Step 1
Wait awhile before deciding to ask him to dance. While it is perfectly acceptable to ask him, there is always the chance he might say no. If he asks you, then you know he is interested.
-
Step 2
Catch his eye several times during the night. Smile at him when he looks at you and hold eye contact for a minute before looking away. It is best if you look away first though, then he is free to keep watching you.
-
Step 3
Dance with other people where he can see you. Pick a spot on the dance floor that is in his line of vision but not directly in front of him so you do not appear too obvious. Laugh and have fun while you are dancing. If you make it look like a lot of fun, he can't help but to want to dance with you.
-
Step 4
Find an excuse to talk to him. If it is a guy that you know from school, ask him about a homework assignment or make a comment to him about a teacher that you both dislike. If you are in a place that you have never been before, ask him if he knows where the bathroom is.
-
Step 5
Flirt with him while you are talking to him. Touch his arm while talking and stand closer to him than your normally would if you were talking to a guy you weren't interested in. Move your body to the music. Look back over your shoulder when you walk away, like you hate to leave him.
-
Step 6
Ask him to dance to a slow song with you if the night is getting late and he still has not made his move. If you are not comfortable asking him to dance, try saying something like "you know, I wouldn't say no if you asked me to dance." If he doesn't ask you after you say that, either he is not interested or he is afraid to dance.
