3. Rehearse your conversation before talking to your parents. You have the good fortune of being able to prepare in advance. Armed with your list and responses, practice your conversation aloud. Pay attention to how you sound. Your answers should be mature and calm.
4. Set a time to speak with your parents. Make sure they are relaxed and tell them you would like to discuss a serious matter.
5. Tell them that you value their opinion and present your case concerning the person you would like to date. Make sure they know how important this person is to you.
