Everybody, well almost everybody, loves chocolate and what better way to raise money for charity that to involve chocolate? Working with chocolate and charity offers a number of ways of creating a fun atmosphere and many donations. Below are a few ideas to get things started.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Contract with the local schools and regional manufacturers to provide you with and help you sell fund raising candy. This is common with small chocolate producers so check online to find the nearest store to you. Sell the candy as a lead up to and way of advertising the event.

  2. Step 2

Have a set number of door prize wrappers placed on candy bars with one at every seat at the function. Be sure to tell the attendees to hold on to their wrappers throughout the proceedings. Hand out candy bars at the front door as an alternative.

  3. Step 3

Invite local artists and cake decorators to participate in a chocolate cake or design competition. Auction off the finished designs for charity. A local celebrity judge helps get your organization extra media exposure.

  4. Step 4

Ask chocolate manufacturers far and wide to set up a stand at your function allowing them to give away merchandise and free samples. Ask a small charitable donation from each vendor to make this a mutually agreeable enterprise.

  5. Step 5

Have a kid chocolate making contest offering a prize and charging a 5 or 10 cent fee to join in. this is good entertainment and also allows children to learn the importance of contribution on their scale. Design your own chocolate wrapper also goes down as a treat.

  6. Step 6

Consider other contests such as art, design and quilts all based around a chocolate theme to attract attention and donations to your event.

  7. Step 7

Make "I donated" stickers for donors that are bright and colorful, hopefully attracting others to the event after the donor leaves.
