It’s that time of year again. You’re heading back to school, but you’re not the same girl that you were last year. It’s time to change up that hairstyle, try out some new makeup and spice up your outfits. Read on to find out how you can wow your friends by getting a stylish back-to-school makeover.

From Quick Guide: Back to School
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Ask a friend to go through the makeover process with you. This way you’ll have someone to bounce ideas off of and someone to tell you when something doesn’t look right on you.

  2. Step 2

Look through magazines to spot the latest trends in hair, makeup and fashion. When you find styles that you like, tear out the pages for later.

  3. Step 3

Evaluate your current hairstyle. Is it in desperate need of a trim, or is your style seriously out of date? Look through the magazine pages you tore out to pick out a couple of hairstyles that might work for you.

  4. Step 4

Choose a hairstylist that you can trust to listen to you and to do an awesome job on your hair. Take the photos of the hairstyles you like to your stylist and work with her to come up with the best style for you.

  5. Step 5

Go to the makeup counter at a department store to get a free makeover. Learn which shades of makeup look best on your skin and how to apply your makeup. Purchase a few new makeup products to use for your back-to-school makeover.

  6. Step 6

Shop for a few new outfits with your friend. Work with the sales associates at your favorite stores to pick out some hip new clothing that you can sport on your first few days back to school.

  7. Step 7

Invite your friend over and do a practice run the day before school starts. Choose the outfit you’re going to wear and practice styling your hair and putting on your makeup.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don’t be too drastic when changing your hairstyle. Since this is something you’ll have to live with for at least a few months until it grows out, choose a style that you know you’ll love.
  • When you change up your usual makeup routine, this doesn’t mean that you have to wear tons of makeup for it to be noticeable. Sometimes just changing the powder, blush and eyeshadow colors to match better with your skin tone will make a big difference.

on 8/5/2008 trying on the outfit before the day back to school is sometimes not a good idea. if u try something on and it comes out better the day before it will lower you confidence and you wont have a great day back-to-school. instead try it on maybe 5 days before, and then dont stress over it the day you have to actually wear it.
