Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Warm up first. Get your muscles loose and warm and begin by doing several easy flips.
Step2
Position your body properly on the board. Place your forward foot just in front of the front truck (wheels) at about an angle of 45 degrees. Since you are starting out with an ollie, position your rear foot on the tail. Keep your shoulders aligned parallel to the deck.
Step3
Begin the Girl flip by getting up to your normal speed. Pop the board up while your forward foot slides up to the nose, rotating your ankle to a 90 degree angle. At the nose, let your foot slide right off of the deck. That 90 degree angle will help you flick your ankle off of the deck. The strength of your ankle is what makes this trick work. The harder your ankle flicks the board decides how fast or slow your board will flip so you want to have a lot of control with the pressure of your ankle.
Step4
Hold your forward foot in the air. Your rear foot is also in the air. Hold it as long as you can while your board flips.
Step5
Catch the board and land, then go right into the varial kickflip. The varial is a combination of a kickflip with a backside shove-it.
Step6
Shove the board with the rear foot at the same time you pop it up. The harder you pop, the higher you’ll go. Flip the deck the same as you did for the kickflip, making sure that the board completes a 180 varial. Catch it before it over flips and land.
