How to Find Christmas Presents Parents Have Hidden

Part of the fun at Christmastime is anxiously waiting to open your presents. Some parents go to great lengths to hide the presents they've bought to save them especially for Christmas Day. As we all know, though, there's only so many places you can hide gifts in your home.

Instructions

    • 1

Look in your parent's closet for hidden Christmas presents. Often parents hide gifts up high and out of sight, possibly still in the bag of the store they purchased it in. If your parents have a walk-in closet, check on the shelves behind shoes and bags. Once you're finished digging around, make sure you put back everything in its proper place. Most parents notice if something has changed inside their closet.

    • 2

Check the attic, storage room or basement. Parents can hide packages among boxes or even inside unused furniture, like dresser drawers. If you have an attic with hidden stairs, be careful when pulling the stairs down and climbing up them. Finding your presents early isn't worth getting hurt.

    • 3

Inspect the area under all the beds in your house. Your parents may have shoved a few packages or even wrapped presents under the bed thinking you couldn't see them, especially if there is a dust ruffle on the mattress.

    • 4

Realize that your efforts might be futile if your parents have hidden the gifts somewhere other than your house. Parents are often smarter than we give them credit for. They may have anticipated your eagerness to find your gifts and have already stored them at a relative's house.

Tips & Warnings

  • Consider waiting until Christmas Day to open your presents. Part of the magic of Christmas is the anticipation of opening gifts and you may ruin the surprise for yourself if you try and peek at your hidden presents early.
