Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Half-gallon milk carton
  • Scissors
  • Balloon
  • Straws
  • Spools
  • Straight pins

Step1
Wash the inside of an empty milk carton; this will be the body of the balloon car. Use the scissors to remove the top of the carton and to cut it lengthwise down the middle.
Step2
Find the center of the one short side and make a hole with the scissors. The opening should only be large enough to fit the nozzle of the balloon.
Step3
Place the uninflated balloon in the carton and stick the end of the balloon through the hole.
Step4
Position the carton lengthwise and cut two holes on the bottom for the front and back axles. Turn the carton and cut two more holes on the opposite side. Make sure they line up with the existing holes. Place one straw through the two front axle holes and the other straw through the two back axle holes.
Step5
Put one spool on each of the straws to create the wheels. Secure the spools in place by pushing the straight pins through the ends of the straws.
Step6
Inflate the balloon and hold the nozzle tightly closed. Place your car on the floor and release your hand. Your new balloon car is complete and ready to drive away.
