Half Life 2 Deathmatch is a multiplayer first person shooter game that pits you against other game players trying who are trying to eradicate you (and the other gamers) with weapons ranging from a crowbar to a rocket propelled grenade. Following a few steps helps you improve your standing and skill on Half Life 2.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Configure your controls to best suit your needs by first altering your mouse sensitivity. Increasing the mouse sensitivity makes you faster but increases the difficulty of aiming, so increasing sensitivity as you improve makes you a better player over time. Also, trying out the different command configurations such as the classic configuration (that uses the W, A, S and Z keys for movement) or the arrow key configuration helps you find your comfort zone.

  2. Step 2

Get to know your guns and weapons so you know which weapon to pull out to kill your enemies. The Magnum is a very powerful weapon that deals a huge hit to your opponent's health points. Newbies, however, find it and the shotgun much more difficult to use than some of the simpler weapons. Try out the pistol for a midlevel weapon and experiment with the Stun Stick and Gravity Guns as these are the more situational weapons.

  3. Step 3

Keep moving at all times, especially when you find yourself in a one-on-one combat situation. The moment you encounter an enemy you should aim for the head, even if this gets you shot at first. Continual practice of attempted headshots and rapid movement makes you a more skilled player in very little time.

  4. Step 4

Find servers that have very skilled players in them and try to improve your Half Life Deathmatch skills by paying close attention to what the better players are doing. Use the chat function on the game to ask a better player a specific question that you can use to improve your Deathmatch skills.
