Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Keep informed about recent developments by subscribing to email alerts sent by partner groups listed on the Save Darfur website. Each group offers a unique approach to ending genocide in Darfur.
Step2
Sign online petitions sponsored by Amnesty International. Both U.S. House Resolution 1011 and U.S. Senate Resolution 470 call for a Darfur peace plan.
Step3
Write a letter-to-the-editor to your local newspaper urging world governments to make ending genocide in Darfur a top priority. Follow the writing tips on the Genocide Intervention Network website.
Step4
Call the Anti-Genocide Hotline at 1-800-GENOCIDE to urge the governor of your state, Congress and the President of the United States to end foreign investment that funds genocide in Darfur. Then report the results of your calls to the site so it can track officials' responses.
Step5
Join an activist group such as Student Anti-Genocide Coalition, comprised of more than 600 high school and college chapters around the country. Contact a regional coordinator listed on the coalition's website to join a STAND chapter. If a chapter isn’t nearby, the site tells you how to start your own.
Step6
Create your own activist group. Go to the Save Darfur website to learn how to use their online organizing tools, plan your group's events and publicize your group's activities.
