How to Like a Guy Who Has a Love Hate Thing Going On

It is so much easier to like a guy who likes you back. But we can’t always pick whom we’re attracted to. Some guys are afraid of being in a relationship, yet want it more than anything. It may be more difficult to like a guy who has a love/hate thing going on, but it may eventually be very rewarding.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Give him space. You can’t be too pushy with a guy who doesn’t really know what he wants. Let him be with his friends when he is in the mood and really enjoy the times you do have together.
Step2
Learn to separate your self-worth from his feelings. When he is in his hateful, crabby moods, know that it has nothing to do with you. You can remain friends and keep liking him if you don’t take his negative behavior personally.
Step3
Look on the bright side. Relationships are rarely all good or all bad. Long lasting relationships weather the storms and by liking this guy you will be getting plenty of practice for the real thing. If he turns out to be your soul-mate, then you will have learned to deal with his changing moods.
Step4
Let him know how he is coming across to you. He may not even realize that he is sending mixed signals. A lot of guys you exhibit love/hate emotions are confused, yet believe that they are being natural and normal.
Step5
Find out more about him so it makes his attitude shifts a little easier to bear. When he pushes you away, ask him why he is acting that way. When he is in the love mode, tell him that you like him enough to try and figure him out. You may learn about his past or he may reveal things in his life that cause him pain.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not stay in any relationship that is sexually or emotionally abusive. Seek help if you find yourself in such a situation.
