Pizza can make delicious, and easy to prepare, leftovers. The trick is knowing how to recook the leftovers so that the crust doesn't become a crispy cracker or as hard as a rock. Freshening your pizza crust is easy, and you can use the same technique for any other type of bread or dough.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper towels
  • Microwaveable plate
  • Leftover pizza
  • Microwave
  1. Step 1

Dampen a paper towel with warm water. It should be heavy with water, but not dripping wet. If the paper towel is too wet, wring it out, but unfold it back into a rectangular shape when done.

  2. Step 2

Place the wet paper towel on a microwaveable dish, and put the pizza on top of the paper towel. You may need to repeat Step 1 until you have enough paper towels for all the pizza to sit on.

  3. Step 3

Fold the edges of the paper towel over the pizza so that the crust of the end pieces is covered. This will ensure that all of the bread portion of your leftovers gets some water so that it will freshen up.

  4. Step 4

Cover the leftovers with a dry paper towel. This towel will keep the moisture from evaporating into the air. Instead the water will evaporate very slowly, and as the top paper towel gets wet, less and less water will be able to evaporate and it will become trapped beneath this paper towel.

  5. Step 5

Microwave the pizza until it is hot. In powerful microwaves, this may take only one minute. In older microwaves, you may want to time heat the pizza for two or more minutes.
