Step 1
Remove the current sock from the left foot. Be sure to start at the top and slide the sock downward. Simply pulling the sock off from the toe will eventually stretch the fabric and ruin the sock.
-
Step 2
Repeat the same process for the right sock.
-
Step 3
Place the discarded socks together and roll them into a ball by folding one of the socks down over the other until it is engulfed. This ensures that the socks will remain a pair during laundry sessions.
-
Step 4
Place the discarded pair of socks into a laundry hamper or dirty clothes basket. Do not simply leave them lying on the floor.
-
Step 5
Make sure the feet are clean and dry before putting on a new pair of socks.
-
Step 6
Choose a new pair of socks from the sock drawer. Consider the outfit that the socks will accompany when making this decision. Obviously a pair of white athletic socks would not be compatible with business attire, and trouser socks would look ridiculous with cargo shorts.
-
Step 7
Bunch long socks down toward the toe area to make putting on the sock easier.
-
Step 8
Insert the toes of the left foot into the first sock and pull the sock onto the entire foot. Be sure that the sock is not twisted and that the heel indicator, if any, is in proper place.
-
Step 9
Repeat this process for the right foot.
